The webinar “Mastering Product Launches: Overcome Challenges & Streamline Workflows with PIM,” held on Tuesday, September 5th, Kerry Young, President & COO of Bluemeteor, shared practical insights on how Product Information Management (PIM) can solve these problems and simplify product launch workflows.
Kerry explained that businesses often struggle with managing product data across different systems, leading to inconsistencies and delays. Lengthy approval processes and outdated tools make the situation worse. Drawing from Bluemeteor’s experience, Kerry shared real-life examples of manufacturers and distributors who have used PIM to fix these issues, resulting in faster, more efficient product launches.
He highlighted how improving data accuracy and automating workflows can reduce errors and help companies get products to market more quickly. Kerry also noted that PIM is especially challenging for 33% of manufacturers and 50% of distributors, who see it as their biggest pain point.
Greg Wong, CEO of RIWI, added key data from a recent survey. He explained that 37% of respondents said product information management is their top challenge, ahead of supply chain (16%), marketing and sales (17%), and e-commerce (20%). Greg also emphasized the importance of accurate product information for distributors, who rely on it for inventory management and communication with retailers.
He invited Kerry to expand on these points, and Kerry shared how PIM helps manufacturers and distributors alike overcome these hurdles, especially as they adapt to the growing demands of e-commerce.
Together, Kerry and Greg highlighted how PIM can streamline product launches, improve data consistency, and reduce delays—making it easier for companies to succeed in today’s fast-paced market.
